I give shadowheart 2 torches, one in each hand. it also better in combat than a standard mace, cause a mace do 1d4 and a torch do 1d4 + 1d4 fire.
I never used a shield so far in game. shield suck, all you get is +2 armor and you miss potential damage from offhand.
It is kinda weird cause in bg1 and 2 at least 1 tanky with shield was like a must have.
what you mean do nothing? they the best dual weapons up to act 2!
there are sections where torches do NOT protect you from the shadows, which is the entire point of the moon lanterns.
