[SPOILERS] Dark Urge ending is so cringe
Just finished the game for the first time as an evil Dark Urge and damn the ending cutscene is weird. I had Lae'zel, Gale and Shadowheart as my companions and they literally didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about me cruelly murdering their savior orpheus and enslaving the bullshitbrain for my own purposes. The only thing is that Lae'zel asked me wtf is wrong with me after I killed her senpai. Cmon, i said that i just wanted to and she was like ok dude no prob. Then there is a scene with Baldur's Gate being destroyed by squidwards, Urge sits on a throne and his friendos are cheering. Excuse me, what the ♥♥♥♥ is that? Birthday party? Why the hell are you so happy?
Please someone tell me this ending is the only one that looks like child's fairy tale, otherwise that is soooo lame

yea endings arent much to talk about. as for lae'zel she probably had max attitute/reputation with you and idolized you, thats why she didn't abandon you when killing orpheus.

I suspect:
In today world we cannot have people hate you for being evil.
That is wrong.
So companions who shoud have every single reason to attack you.
Wont.
Because that would mean people coudnt have their way without paying for it.
Lea'zal at the very least shoud have attacked you for killing orpheus.

I notice this problem with Baldurs gate 3 written in general.
Where your choices seem to break the game story.

Yea Lae'zel seems to constantly contradict her character all the time for the sake of having her stay in your party.
They probably will add a better ending after they make a definitive edition based on what people say about their previous games.

My guess is that everyone's "happy" because your DU character made them feel this way as from now on DU is in full control over their companions' lives. What you've described doesn't seem like DU exclusive ending, just evil ending.

Perhaps you are right, as the ending itself doesn't involve anything connected with Bhaal. But what makes me think the story is exclusive for Urge, is the final dialogue options: Either I submit to Bhaal, or I reject him and get destroyed afterwards. Though it still may be related to non urge character, who follows the god of murders and completes his questline

I had to join Bhaal cult so I could reach Orin and extract my abducted companion. I freed Orpheus, made him Illithid and had option to let him finish off Nether Brain or backstab him to get its power for myself. I don't think latter had anything with Bhaal.

The ending is ironic , yea your companions are cheering like idiots because as you dominated the brain they lost their protection from the mind flayer and so became your puppets .

So the reason they were so happy and cheering like a b day party is because you dominated them and made them look like happy idiots for your amusement .

So the ending is that you pretty much tricked everyone and everyone became your slave with no free will.

I found that ending hilarious tbh.

Like all my companions thought we will share the power but i just ended up enslaving them lol Minthara right when I betrayed the emperor was like WTF and I was like don’t worry I have a place for you in my master plan. That place was to make her my puppet and have her and the rest cheer for me happily while I become the new GOD

I honestly thought the ending was hilarious

Note to self.
Go for dominate brain ending next time.
I didnt because the first time because i was sure the brain would escape in the future.
He did it before and she can do it again.
I wasnt going to risk it.

Aren't all companions supposed to be dead rather sooner than later if you really play evil?
Or did you try to be evil, but still made buddy buddy with everyone?
Ard Feainn Aug 28, 2023 @ 4:19am
This isn't just a Dark Urge thing, it's just the regular Evil ending. Which is very underwhelming, but how did you miss the part that you enslave your companions and they act like enthralled zombies?

Not really. For example Karlach cursed and fought me after I found her because I slaughtered the grove. So you can be hated for evil choices, Larian just didn't bother with the ending and did Mass Effect 3 all over again.

what makes you think evil kills anyone? no reason to kill somebody if he poss no treat to you. especially if you can use them for your own goals.

Looks like it.
They also seem to have failed to program in what accauly happends.
Like having npc claim you killed isobel in cold blood instead of her dying due to your killed the big boss mind controling her.

Well you can still enjoy power while it lasts and there is no guarantee NB will come up with working escape plan once again although it's not the first time it broke free in the past even in it's weaker EB form. "Chosen" actually had it under control until your party took one of stones which set EB/NB's escape event in motion. Someone might come out to mess with your controlling artefact.

I've sabotaged Grove's defenses and it was enough for Wyll to leave while he stayed at camp. I guess technically I didn't kill him.
