Can't Move in Multiplayer

Started a game earlier with my girlfriend. Few hours later we launch the game again, she starts the session again, and I join.

I can see my character, Examine things/people, move things in my inventory, ping my location on my the map, but I can't move my character at all. It says I'm stuck in a "private conversation" but I'm not - I'm standing on the beach after we crash landed. Any ideas?

After waiting my character's journal suddenly updated and now I can move. My guess is my character was in the cutscene (although I wasn't and couldn't see that) and was showing he was having a "private conversation". Anyway, I got it working. Leaving this up for posterity, if anyone searches for it.

I had the exact same issue. It seems it was a dialog cut seen from when we first load on the beach but we could t wait through it.

We reloaded a previous auto save and were able to go through the dialog again properly.

If someone ends up with this issue and doesn't have an earlier save I'd recommend to try pressing the numbe 1 key multiple times.

I'm thinking this will allow you to still select dialog options in order to finish the dialog.

You ever find a working fix for this? I just started playing this with a friend today and I want to know if there's any way to fix this. Otherwise I may just refund.

Just fyi, me and my friend had this problem. He solved it by taking control of my character and sending me to camp.
