What if you dont eat the parasites?

Does anything special happen if you decide not to eat the parasites or am i just wasting my time thinking their will be a special cutscene or dialogue option down the road for never using any of the parasites or willingly enter peoples minds. (im playing as a paladin and i prefer to RP my characters when playing RPGS, doing things that would only make sense and i dont see how it would make sense for a paladin to mess with his own mind by willingly infecting themselves with something as un-pure as a parasite)

You're mostly just wasting your time. A few people will give you a snarky dialogue and then immediately forgive you for doing "what needed to be done". There is no consequence for evolving into a half-flayer and filling your brain with parasites to get every power. You can still remove it all at the end.

The biggest consequence is not breaking the games combat balance even more than it already is.

I didn't use any on my first playtrough (tactician) and even without perilous stakes, the fights past level 5 were trivial.
