Has anyone killed the Gith patrol's Red Dragon in Act 1?
I was thinking about stacking crates to reach it, but want to see if it is worth doing before wasting time. Any drops?

No, but if you have Disarming Attack or Command, you can get a Silver Sword Legendary Greatsword.

I know about the sword, but the dragon always flies away. I wanted to use the stacking crates trick for max bludgeon damage. With 300hp you could kill the dragon with 4 thrown shoes from 100 crates up.

I tried every dialogue option open to me to initiate a fight with the dragon, the most you can do is aggro Voss, he always sends Adeinos (the dragon's name) away.
Sad, but a fight with a dragon even at 5th level probably wouldn't end too well for most people lmoa

Dragon didn't take any damage when we stacked like 15 exploding barrels behind it and it initiated combat and it flew away :(

Nope just did it. You have to save scum a ton though because the chances of command drop landing on him at that level are pretty low.

After quite a few playthroughs and spending WAY too much time getting this sword, I have given up on it now and use the permanent Flame Blade druid hireling glitch instead. These swords are strong (and get stronger with druid levels 3, 7 and 11) and they are not designed mainly for Giths like the silver sword.

You can simply barrelmance them.
But to get the silver sword you can just wait and dialogue get it in Act 3. You dont even need to be honest.

The sword isnt even that good actually. In the end of Act 1 you get a much better sword for Gith characters from the Creche.
