Heavy Crossbow is the best Act 1 ranged weapon type. You can get a +1 that has advantage against monsters and also a +1 that Banes the target if they fail a CHA save.
There are some decent short bows in Act 2. 1d6 base damage sucks though, its the same as a hand crossbow but with 20% more range.
Late Act 2 you get what I think is the best hand crossbow in the game. Considering that, Ranger/Fighter to at least 5 and then Thief to at least 3 is one of the strongest ranged builds in the game. Dex gloves and Sharpshooter and you can get 4 attacks by character level 8. 5 on round one if you go Gloomstalker.
Should I equip the gloves that give bonus stat to longbow and shortbow? Forgot the gloves, it's in act 1
Can't find another 1, I'm using just 1 atm
lvl 2 fighter has action surge for one extra attack, gloomstalker for a free attack turn 1
I chose dagger dual wield
