question about the creche-spoilers
I'm currently in the second stage and cleared the way to attack moonrise towers, I haven't gone to the creche in the mountains yet (I stayed away due to the warning when i tried to enter)
in the most non-spoiler answer, Should I visit the creche before I attack moonrise? Or does it not really matter/effect anything if I choose to visit the creche after?

Yes

In normal progression, you do the creche before entering act 2, or every soon after entering act 2.

I was going to, but I kept getting warnings which suggested I wasn't high enough level to be in that area so I stayed away.

As far as I know, the pool at the bottom of the Thorm Mausoleum is the point of no-return and the Creche (all areas from Act 1) will become unavailable after that.
It is recommended to visit the Creche before proceeding.

I went to the creche today, but I did not know about things becoming unavailable after that spoiler moment, thank you

Not the portal to Nightsong? I remember waypoints from Act I vanishing after that.

Considering the progression it's quite linear where to go (from my last playthrough):
- crash site / druid grove / goblin base: lvl1-5
- Underdark lvl6
- Grimforge lvl6,5
- Mountain Pass & kill complete Creche Base lvl 7,5
- Shadowlands up to endboss exactly 10 (i got lvl10 at endboss but you can kill many targets in moonrise tower before that and get their xp as well i guess)
- Wyrms Crossing 11-11,5
- Lower City 12

You can definitely enter the location in the Mausoleum and come back, at least until you reach the warning screen. There is a bit of content that can be done before that.

Yes. Wasn't sure how to describe where Shadowfell was (at the end of the Temple of Shar, which is accessible through the Mausoleum) and what it did without spoilers.

It is possible to "accidentally" (DC30) unlock the door to Balthazar's room without getting noticed by the skeletons or the shadows, and have him killed, which removes some part of the optional information about the area. Thus, the portal to Shadowfell is a pool at the end of the Temple of Shar.

This is how I progresses as well. this way you are leveled enough to do the creche before you even enter act 2.

I haven't entered grimforge yet but I haven't also triggered the pool in shar's temple either. I'm currently doing the creche.
Should I turn around and go do grimforge or is it safe to go there after the creche? (non spoiler answers please)

No idea, I can't seem to avoid being seen but I did KIA him in the room before I went to complete the Shar Trials.

The Creche should not affect the availability of Grymforge if Grymforge has not been visited at all. I am not entirely sure that Deep Gnomes' quest* in Grymforge can be completed after entering the Mountain Pass, but this specific quest certainly must be completed first after entering Grymforge without resting, visiting the camp, or anyhow leaving the location (the other quests in the area are not time-sensitive). Having a smokepowder barrel or a grenade before going there is recommended.
* irrelevant if Barcus Wroot, the windmill gnome, is dead. Nere's head can be collected after Nere's death from poison and Wilburn is at the Moonrise Tower.
