Is there an option to remove or tone down the gay content?

I really love the game but i think there is too much american politics involved, I'm euro and not really interested in gay stuff, it really ruins the immersion.

Is there any option to skip this?

Yup, if you select Baldur's Gate in your Steam Library. Then Right Click > Manage > Uninstall.

No scary "gay" content to worry about then.
