Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

Statistiche:
Oh BS, they nerfed chest of the mundane
It went from weighing 40lbs at base to 200lbs at base

edit: I guess this is proof that they didn't consider people would abuse it and decided to take away fun stuff. That's freaking annoying as hell.

edit 2: I emptied my inventory and items as much as possible and it still says "too heavy to add to inventory" they really took it away completely.

Yeah, I really don't get this - what a waste of a cool item, now nothing but junk. This did not need to be fixed, it wasn't broken.

yeah part of the fix was making so people can't carry the box around. Since it happened at the same time. probably an engine limitation. Oh well. There are better ways to store things.

Nope, what you're saying is just a concocted mixture of judgemental nonsense. They should either allow for that "unique" item to be carried around - or just give us a bag of holding.

Have you not heard your characters say "WISH I HAD A BAG OF HOLDING" ?? Which is obviously hinting at having storage to make looting items easier and guess what, in the entire Faerun, there's NONE!! The Chest was a band-aid and they even removed THAT, not to mention the fun part of exploring things with it, like bombing coronation for example lol.

No one is forcing you to agree with us. But going as far as to say that there are "better ways" to store things? I beg to differ. Calling something that is needlessly complicated and bothersome "easy" for the sake of it is nothing short of lunacy.
Bag of holding holds way way way way way less than the traveler's chest. That's just a fact.

64 cubic feet is like a washing machine. My barbarian can hold as much as a bag of holding. Which doesn't matter anyway, because if you transfer things from the traveler's chest to a character standing next to a vendor, you can make them weigh ton.

I've been able to bomb things with traveler's chest barrel's just fine. With the added benefit of knowing which barrel is which.

i don't get you bro, we're literally saying it's shame that the fun part with chest is over, along with not-so-insignificant quality-of-life improvement when it comes to loot and weight limit, and you jump on here trying to convince us that we're wrong to be disappointed about it? Like, what do you gain from such meaningless motion?
lmao always gotta get personal instead of talking about what the post is about.

zzzzzzzz

the post is about nerfed mundane chest, along with notion of disappointment, reverberated in most of the replies. Bro you're feeling okay?
Another patch and still no Bag of Holding...
Exploit fixed... done.
give us bag of holding already
My question is, and this goes to the "They fixed a bug" people as well, if they did not want us to carry the chest why did they make it so it was magical and transformed items in to mundane lightweight things?

Like what was the idea here?
One of two things would happen:

1. The player takes something out and finds out it's a chest that actually has some minor treasure.
2. Don't take something out and does not find out it has some minor treasure.

Like... ok? What is the point of that? It's not "fun" it's not interesting it's just.... looting with extra steps.
Carrying capacity mods exist.
Easy fix for Larian, take away all the explosive barrels, oil barrels etc. etc. that way the game becomes a fantasy style rather fantasy steampunked/low tech thing. Yo can still have the surfaces etc created by spells etc but none of these mass explosion things. Then we could have back the good old Bag of Holding or indeed The Chest of the Mundane.
I don't remember it having anything worthwhile in it anyway. Was it in some way useful?

How do surfaces etc prevent us having those? I feel quite dumb.
LOL. It was an obvious glitch.

And since they IS a Single Player game, feel free to use mods, or cheat trainers, whatever to max your equipment carry capacity.

You do not want fun, because if you did, you wouldn't need the chest, you would have done like I suggested.

What you want is the illusion of not cheating when you are obviously cheating.

I think this is like my fourth time explaining it? I wish people read threads. People use chest of mundane as like a bag of holding. Which also means, people found cheeky things to do with it, like carry around 70 barrels of oil so you could effortlessly set up a massive bomb and trivialize any encounter.

which is shenanigans that has ALWAYS been a part of D&D. People just love doing this stuff. So nerfing the chest so people couldn't carry it around anymore and making it basically useless is directly in contest of the game itself. People like breaking things. The people that don't, don't have to do it.

There was no reason to nerf something that was extremely useful, regardless of how people were using it to make the game trivial or otherwise.

It's not a glitch. They didn't have foresight to know what people would do with it, which is hilarious because literally anyone that has campaigns that go into the underdark winds up abusing explosives in some way. Its part of the game. One Larian tried to avoid by not allowing a bag of holding. They just didn't realize at the time they gave us one. There was no exploit or glitch here, Larian just saw something fun and didn't like it makes the game easy if people *CHOOSE* to use it.
