Such a mod makes no sense. Storywise it adds up starting disadvantageous, and it does not take long until you have access to all kind of weapons. Players who play the game multiple times already can get there in less than 30 minutes.
It makes plenty sense.
I started my game as a Drow Rogue, with a generic leather armor and a shortsword.
Would have been nice if i could have started with Drow armor, maybe choose two daggers instead of the sword. Maybe i'd want to role play i was captured whilst out on the town, and just wearing regular clothes instead of armor (add a bit of challenge).
It would of course be unbalanced if you could pick all the best gear of the game, but it woulden't have to be like that, you could make it so all the armor has the same stats, so it's purely for visual and roleplay purposes.
don't think there is a mod for it though either, sorry
>Crouch to make the spell visible
>Cast it to spawn the chest in inv
>Enter turn based mode
>Take item barrel out of chest, dropping it in inventory
>Get the items you want from the barrel
>Put the barrel back into the chest from your inventory
>End turn based mode and wait a few turns for the chest to respawn and reset
But, would be nice if my paladin started with a longsword instead of a warhammer.
Some would call these, "nothing burger" answers. Pay it no mind fellow modders.
Those mods usually put items in the Tutorial Chest in the Nautiloid. This is good for anything you want to start off with.
Here's a mod focused on better starting equipment.
