Or alternatively you could go up top, break through the wall, and assassinate everyone from the interconnected rafters, scaffolding, and ledges.
I've heard cooler ways of going about it, but I like to get dialogue and story
I pretty much did that but from inside after killing the drow leader.
I've heard you can side with them but then start killing them *in the middle of the assault on the druids* and the game will acknowledge it... but I haven't tried it.
Wyll said let's kill these goblins.
I agreed.
Killed goblin leaders one by one.
Did not rescue Halsin before fighting.
Did not use my ogre horn. Would have made fight so much easier.
Did not speak to any of the goblin leadership except a few words to High Priestess.
If you can, before you kill that lider in the chair when all the camp goes hostil, go outside and put poison in the drinks to kill a lot of them
If you killed the liders, the globins wont attack nobody, so you can just fast travel to leave the camp or clean it. To do the last one I recommend the poison, than finish the outside, and then go to the inside and clean them all
I killed the stronger lider one shot only with barrils, I put all around him xDDD
If you skip the Grove entirely (except Aradin forced interaction) and clear the Camp first, Arabella dies to Kagha.
So it's best to stop by the Grove, save Arabella then leg it to the Camp and kill everyone past the bridge. I'm on my like, tenth trip through the game.
Get priestess to go to her quarters. Position melee next to her, ranged and especially casters a bit away. Cast silence on her so she can't call for help. Murder her on the spot.
If you want to go the underdark route afterwards, proceed into her back chambers, deal with ogress and puzzle, go down to selunite outpost and get waypoint, then head back to goblin camp.
then go deal with drow
Finally deal with bugbear.
After beating bugbear don't leave his room, loot everything there and the treasure in the back then fast travel back to grove.
Boom, quest done and you can just not deal with the goblin horde at all. A real assassination mission.
"One thing I swiftly learned was that whenever negotiation broke down and a conversation turned into combat, I would usually get a lot of little goblin-sized bootprints all over my buttocks because deceiving and weaselling out of combat only worked often enough to make me completely bloody unprepared for the unavoidable fights. The winning strategy in such cases was to reload a save and try to cheat as much as possible. Which wasn’t great for immersion. There was no in-universe reason why Mortimer would drag an explosive barrel into the middle of a group of not yet hostile NPCs. “Don’t mind me, just thought this would look nice here, my goodness, your leader’s making a jolly interesting speech, why don’t you keep paying attention to that while I go over there and check on that thing that’s just inside firebolt range.”
