Fix Multiplayer dropping out
As title says, started a game with 4 people and wanted to continue playing without 2 of them but now their characters are stuck in the party permanently. Can do nothing to get rid of them, killing them does nothing as they're still in the party, I can't get an origin char in the party no matter what I do. Found a reddit thread that explains more. ♥♥♥♥ is crazy, gotta reset a 4 hour save to play with just 2 people.

Yep this is a pretty annoying bug. I'm stuck in a run with someone's character I don't know. They somehow joined my single player game. :steamfacepalm:

It's not a bug. It was a deliberate design choice and they're working on changing it.

ooooo bad deliberate choice there

Yeah, they noticed that and that's why it's one of the few confirmed things to change in the near future.

You started a journey together, you are commited together.

Yeah, so obviously you should be able to put the MP character in camp, like every other character. :steamfacepalm:

Obviously not.

That's wild though. Saw on the reddit thread someone accidentally had public on and 3 randoms joined and then left after making their characters. Dude's save is bricked because of it. He will miss out on tons of legendary weapons that are tied to origin characters simply because he can't bring them out. Had to remake a session so my friend could customize his own character and not be forced to play someone else's character. It makes the whole idea of hirelings pointless

It's not a bug, but a design decision. When you start the game with multiple players, all of them are flagged as "the main characters". Meaning you can't progress anything without them in the party.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, obviously, but once you started together, you are committed.

And that's why I'm running three concurrent playthroughs.
