"The Book"

Ok , I gave the Nec-Book to ShadowHeart ... but lets just say that did not turn out to be best choice and she is gone now.... Act 3, my main player does not seem to be able to do anything with the book now .... so was all that pointless now? Told in Act 3 could use book, but does not seem to bond with main character (kind of like wand in Hpotter).

It might be, unless you find the other thing you're supposed to use with it. IF you still have the book, the game might recognize you have both and you can then decipher the text.

The thing you get from the book though in act 3 has been nerfed to hell and back from patch 1 and is now completely useless.

IT was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome when I had it. 6 ghouls that can paralyze with their strikes, but their HP has now been halved, and now its 4, and now you cant even control them, its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless and would not bother

When you find the book the key to it is found by entering the well at Blighted Village. There's a spider colony down there and the book just isn't worth it unless you need the experience points. Use Shadowhearts' Guiding Light spell to destroy it.

Is there any benefits to destroying it .... yea it was a lot of work to get, then missed the token that must be used to open the book... then read like 4 pages , said no more ... and hence dropped off the story - but when my shadow character determined to fight, is killed (which was one of my favorite characters from start)... that whole path of shard, book , etc. all seemed so meaningless ! I thought later maybe I could have brought her back to life, but did not try since I thought fixed in story path. Need to find out next time if can keep her alive .... kind of kills any incentive to play her path at all if always going to end in her dying anyway.... TBD. I don't understand how they say this game has replay-ability ?? I mean most quest I will never do again - rewards were weak and lot of time wasted in game.... forced to use main characters at start - will be same each time - so what will change??
