Destroyed a quest note = rip quest?

Was completing the quest - Investigate the Selunite Resistance

After killing all creatures in the area I accidentally destroyed a quest progressing note, discovering this after a 30 minute fight

Don't exactly want to reload a save and have yet another 20 to 30 minute fight, is it possible to progress the quest without this note?

If you read the note first, I would say you're good since that is usually the trigger for the next step in the quest chain. if you didn't, you probably need to re-start
