The gnome after you blow the rubble. [spoiler]
Is it possible to save that gnome girl after you blow up the rubble and save Nere? I tried a few different approaches and the closest I came was when I accidentally softlocked myself with a glitch.

Nere doesn't kill her until after your dialogue with him. He kicks her into some rocks though it looks like he punts her into the lava. Unless you mean the one in the tunnel and not... Laridda or whatever.

No. She's off'ed in a cutscene, and it happens nomatter what you do.

The only way you could save her is to avoid the cutscene (IE long rest a bunch of times and let Nere suffocate).

The only thing I've seen that might work is if you blow up the rubble far enough back the cutscene doesn't start. Nere just kind of sits at the back. I think if you started combat after that you might be able to save her. But I haven't actually tested it myself, and I don't know how many people you'd have to fight.

I always got the feeling if you were able to trigger combat with nere before the cutscene starts you would be able to save her. Have not tried, personally.

This gave me the weird softlock glitch. It didn't start combat and I just couldn't do anything.

Of course I didn't do it in turn based mode... maybe I'll try that.

I was able to start combat this way. I'm doing the fight now. It just doesn't give you any dialogue or anything. If you made a deal with the mercs then they won't side with you.

After a lot of time testing, it is actually possible to save her. You must blow the rubble in Turn Based Mode, then from a distance, initiate combat with Nere. If you get too close then the cutscene will trigger and he will kill her.

I used Gale to attack from a distance with a spell and initiate combat right after I blew up the wall with the powder.

Doing this will result in no dialogue happening and if you have made a deal with the mercs then they will disregard this and begin attacking you. That is to say, everyone will become hostile.

My world is broken. I didn't bother finishing out, I just went into testing. My time. My sweet worthless worthless time.

It sure does look like she gets thrown into the lava.

After testing the crushing news they are right. She does not get thrown into lava, despite the fact that it clearly makes a sploshing sound followed by a scream, after showing her falling off a ledge.

Shame I didn't notice sooner she was still alive, truth be told though, with all those visual and phonetic cues I'm not sure why I'd think she was.
