Are all characters gender fluid, bisexual or pansexual?
Sometimes it seems that the male characters seem to have feminine gestures/attitudes, and the female characters seem to have masculine gestures/attitudes.

What's worse is that it seems like every character in this game is simultaneously bisexual and extremely horny. There is no separation between friendship and romance. Just being friendly leads to sexual interaction.

I just wish there was an option for a friendship without delving into a sexual relationship.
Not everyone should be romantic with you. These days it seems more like, "Don't talk to anyone unless you want to have sex with everyone."

Even the most innocent lines can lead to gay things. Being flirted with by every other male character is just bad design, distracting, unrealistic and immersion breaking.
Talking to most guys and just being nice starts a homosexual relationship if you're playing a male character. Why this limitation? Why this obligation?

There is nothing wrong with being gay. I don't mind having a gay mate in my squad, but I don't want to be flirted with by ALL male mates. There must be heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual partners. But everyone in this game is bisexual. This is lazy writing. Or an ideological, doctrinal agenda not based on the complexities of real relationships.

That seems very amateurish to me. Something poorly written, without any complexity.
Relationships were developed by a cheeky 13 year old boy. Hugging someone to comfort them or show care is supposed to be flirting.

Are there any characters in the game, those masculine and frowning caricatures, in the style of Conan the Barbarian? Well caricatured, of those marrents, who doesn't care about relationships or anyone else? Or at least ONE character who doesn't care about romances? Where are these characters?

The conversations and relationships in Baldurs Gate 2 seem a thousand light years ahead and a million times more complex and well constructed. The old game is so much better written.

They really need to give the option to choose their sexual preference in character creation.
If this is not possible, it would be much better if the characters had believable and balanced sexualities, as in reality.

An option to choose sexual preference was enough, so if you chose straight, only the opposite sex would be interested in you, if you chose bisexual it would continue as it is now, but I at least as a straight woman would be able to be friends with women without them having a love interest in me, and straight men would be able to have male companions as bros and not love interests. And whoever chose bisexual would have all companions act the same way they act now.

They're playersexual.
And no, we don't need a toggle option. That would be redundant.

You are using all those words incorrectly, op. You desperately need to take some sensitivity training or something.

Yes, this is a compilation of several comments.
Honestly, I wish they could make relationships more complex and less suggestive in the game.

The main problem with wanting your companions' orientations to be more in line with reality - aside from the fact that this is fantasy literally taking place on another planet, which makes the argument moot in the first place - is that your companions are not normal to begin with.

Gale is not your average wizard, Astarion is not your average elf, and so on. This is explicitly and repeatedly stated throughout the game by your companions, about how none of them/you are normal. So why would you expect their sexual orientations to be "standardized"?

Yes they all are.

It is what it is. I still enjoy the game alot but if i had a say I def prefer to have less homosexuality thrown in my face .

Having several dialogue options for flirting with my male companions but just a few that are just being friendly isn’t my cup of tea, yes you can always say no but Wyll for example looked so sad and heartbroken when I said no to his dance invitation that it just felt bad.

And Gayle who my entire first play through thought he is in a relationship with me because he showed me a few magic spells during the camp party and that’s all lol.

And up til the end I had an option to talk to him “about the night we spend together “

Again I still enjoy the game alot but the added way too many layers of homosexuality takes away from the realism for me

In the game could there be a barbarian type character, well caricatured, of those marrents, who doesn't care about relationships or anyone else? Where are these characters? It seems that women are with masculine gestures that should be for wild barbarian warriors.

"Aliens? Sure. Psychic powers? Bring it on. Dragons? Fine. Literal magic? Perfectly normal. Too many homosexuals? Not realistic!"

Do you actually think this is a compelling argument, or even a good one?

This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

So Gale is not the average wizard this he is to be gay/ bi?

If anything he should be above ANYONE in the camp due to having been with a goddess.

How do you logically explain that a hot man who is good enough to bang a goddess all of a sudden is super interested in banging a male sweaty hairy barbarian which is what my class was ? How do you move from a goddess to a big sweaty man like it’s the most natural thing to do lol.

And Wyll is this guy who is tough to dance with Royaltties as well as possibly a smoking hot demon in Mizora and all of a sudden he wants to have intimate dance with my barbarian instead of inviting Shadowheart or Karlah?

And you explanation is cause he isn’t an average warlock lol.

Here's something you may not know: queer people are overrepresented in academia. So Gale being bi and one of the greatest and smartest wizards ever? Realistic as ♥♥♥♥, as far as reality is concerned.

Wyll, a royal, being into men? Do I need to remind you the stuff royals (and rich people in general) get up to when they think they won't be found out? Wholly realistic, especially if he had to keep up a facade with his dad because of the whole "heir" issue that royals tend to have. I'd 100% buy he's gay, but closeted.

You know what would break MY immersion? Not having homosexuality in a Dungeons & Dragons game when it's been included in the setting for decades.
