Romancing in Co-Op?
So, how does game behave when it comes to romancing companions in co-op? Can each person pick a companion to romance or does the game take both players as one entity in this regard and only one of the group of two can romance a follower?

I played co-op for the first time last night mostly because of RL monster interference. I found it interesting that every player could have their own dialogue going on at the same time. As an example I stopped a certain goblin from getting shot with a crossbow which made Gale want to gab. While talking to him the other person was interrogating the goblin with no idea I was in a different conversation. It was also odd that even with the share dialogue option the different players have to click on the NPC to see what is being said.

You all have to kind of let one another take lead sometimes and not move ahead to progress too far. As had the unfortunately had the times of friend of mine getting most of the dialogue that he cant leave out of, and end up getitng the bulk of the approval from my own companion and his. (since sometimes thier approval's overlap)

And as for me like Karlach. Most of her approval came in Act 1. So I didnt end up getting enough approval for her to romance her.
Where he got much of his approval for Shadowheart in 1 and 2 Even though I did most of karlachs personal quests. The ambient story dialogue encounters he kept going ahead and was put into them. Alot of the time unsuspectedly and unable to leave dialogue for me to do them even though I am actually better in the dialogue rolls.

Its a bit of a flawed system in that in co-op. And never quite know when you'll get approval from someone for something.

You can click the dialogue box next to their character portrait to listen in on the conversation. This can be done if you are far away from your co-op partner and the npc.

So far hubby says Shadowheart doesn't progress anywhere and I cant exactly start Halsin's romance till he joins the party. I wonder if Shadowheart has to wait till Nightsong business is concluded for him to move forward. But I was mainly worried that game might think of us as one entity of a protagonist and only allow one person to romance.

if he doesnt get the scene where he has drinks with shadowheart it'll go nowhere, make sure you guys get that before progressing to act 2
a good point to trigger it is the party after killing the goblin leaders
