Unrealistic Aproval at the beginning from Halsin Act2
Hey,
after i finally made it to Act2 and managed to recruit Halsin into my Group, i was really dissapointed about his Aproval High he comes with. He starts as neutral like everybody else.
But Roleplay specific it would be totaly unrealistic that he feels only neutral towards us!
I mean we saved him from the Goblins, we saved his Druid Grove. We took him all the way with us to the Shadowlands, what we know he couldn't do without us in the past. And we managed to rescue Thaniel for him. He even told us, in our Camp that he will always thankful to us and don't know how he ever could make up for it...
And then he is only neutral towards us when he comes into our Party?
It would be really nice if that could be fixed/changed

It is a bit of a bummer that he starts at neutral, but IMHO it is justified in the story and can quickly be offset by some huge approval bonuses right out of the gate, if you play your cards right. I totally overlooked Art in the Last Light Inn and so I didn't trigger the quest to formally recruit Halsin into the party until I was nearing the end of Act 2. I was worried I didn't have enough of Act 2 left to significantly influence his approval before heading into the third act, but that wasn't the case. I had found Oliver and played tag with him prior to Halsin joining, so I don't know how the scene plays (or if there's additional approval) if you encounter him with Halsin first, but even still, once I followed Oliver through the portal and defeated him in Reithwyn, I picked the option to stand back and let Halsin speak with him, and it netted a whopping +50 approval. That's enough to move his temperature from 'neutral' to 'good'. You can also get, I think, +4 or +5 just by exhausting his dialogue options in camp.

I know it's not quite the same as him having a higher opinion of you right out of the gate, but IMHO this is actually explained pretty thoroughly in his early interactions: It's the difference between him actually seeing you in action versus him only seeing the results of what you got up to (mostly) off-screen. By his own admission, he tends to obsess over whatever problem he's currently trying to solve at the expense of his interpersonal relationships, and both he and the other party members allude to him being a cordial but somewhat aloof figure at camp prior to him formally making the decision to join you in full capacity.

So, I read it as: He certainly has a great deal of respect for what you've done for him, and considers you an invaluable ally and associate to whom he is indebted to, but it's not until he starts making himself emotionally available again that he starts considering whether he also likes you as a person -- It's like the difference between being on good terms with a coworker and the kind of friend you'd hit up for drinks on the weekends. And once he confirms you're the kind of person he was hoping you'd be, he's very generous with his approval, because you've already built up a lot of good faith.

He respects you and he is thankful, but he doesn't know you yet. And approval goes up fast anyway, takes like 2-3 days in-game for people to fall in love or consider you the best friend they ever had in they life, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Something like 20 or 30 would be realistic.

I made the Shadow-Land BEFORE Halsin came into my group.

All I did was free him and have him join in the final battle with goblins. He seemed like a decent fellow to share a victory drink with but I guess larian had different ideas because it now seems we are in a relationship. I had to tell him off in the morning. I guess this is normal in Belgium?
