I am not even getting a single line out of the animal. The narrator lady will just say, "This chicken likes to cluck" or "This rat yearns to be in a crevice".. Is there not supposed to be any discussion whatsoever with basic animals the way it happened with the dog?
Thats the thing... I am not getting a single line out of them. Just the narrator talking about the animals desires or whatever.
That's such a let down. Its "Talk to animals"... Not, "Talk to big animals only because somehow small animals cant magically speak tho" like what?
That sure is super duper fun. "Talk to animal" except not those ones, only these ones
Perhaps you're accidentally focusing a character who didn't drink the potion before clicking the animal? IDK.
You can talk to a lot of animals, small and big ones.
Sometimes it is just banter for flavor, sometimes you get a little secret out of them, sometimes you get a whole new way to solve a situation you are facing.
And sometimes they don't have anything to say.
The spell is active until long rest, so just talk to all the animals you encounter, you never know when you get something good.
It's the long game.
Its not the Size.
Its wether the Animal is smart enough to and interested enough to talk.
Animals not smart enough to talk or simply not bothering with you instead get the narrator talking about their toughts.
Dont worry. There is lots of small animals you can talk to.
Do you think they actually wrote dialogue for every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animal in the game?
Talk about self-entitled whining.
Yeah, a random pool of one liners that is randomly said by critters isn't a huge ask. You're angry. We get it.
I have gotten at least a line out of every NPC I have interacted with and the narrator has never spoke for them... Not sure what you mean?
