This game is better than AAA garbage because it's a game and not a vehicle for microtransactions. There are very few games that get released without lots of bugs. Most people can look past those bugs as long as the developer aims to fix the game and actually does so.
Back in the early 2000s development was a lot easier because there wasn't a big variance in the types of systems people played games on. Everyone was on the same version of windows, with the same generation hardware with very few exceptions. Now games need to satisfy a decade+ stretch of different hardwares, different operating systems, regional laws and a host of other random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that wasn't much of an issue a long time ago. Bugs I can forgive. Greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I cannot.
I bought this game when it went into early access and I haven't been charged a cent since. They didn't sneak a release fee or up the price. They didn't lock any content behind a paywall. There is no silly battle pass or microtransactions. Like it or not this game is absolutely atypical of other big studio releases. When is the last time EA, Ubisoft or Activision released a game that wasn't focus grouped into squeezing every dime out of you that was possible? If this game was published by one of the bigger "AAA" studios it would've released in 3 parts for $80 each with a dozen different preorder tiers and gated content.
Dude try playing more Japanese games and less Ubisoft.
There are TONS of relatively bug free, amazing content on release, no microtranshit bs games out and still coming RIGHT NOW. AAA BTW.
based
Maybe if you'd look at every single big studio and not just the bad ones you'd realize this game is nothing new.
Elden Ring, every nintendo game, most sony games, red dead redemption 2 even Cyberpunk which was trash at release but continued to have free updates and still does with no microtransactions.
There's a lot more but you get the point.
Literally every new Fromsoftware and Nintendo game
We just got Armored core 6 yesterday
Capcom makes amazing games as well but they do have some microtransactions. Then again most resident evil microtransactions are nothing more than this game's 10 dollar dlc which gives you some items.
