Metal ingots sell or keep?

The wiki has mixed info on whether or not these are used in crafting or if they're just sell fodder, has anyone actually used any of the ingots in crafting?

The only smithing thing I have encountered was using bark on an existing weapon. I am storing 5 in my camp of each metal I find, and sell the rest.

In D&D bars like that, unless you are a smith or something, are considered trade goods.

Pretty sure they're just sell fodder. I'm near the start of Act 3 and have yet to find anything that accepts them for crafting purposes (there's been 2 operational forges, but both only took specific, more exotic materials). Googling doesn't show up any uses for them that I've found.

sell them. i kept all of mine till the end of the game never found a smith to use them or even talk about them. i was sitting on a small fortune. not that i needed the money.

i read it was supposed to be used for crafting, which was cut.
