The backpack isn't her stuff either. She still has her camp supply pack, for starters, and the backpack I got doesn't continue all her other stuff either.
I have a problem that Halsin becomes aggressive towards the rest of the characters inside the camp. And if I try to move to another location, he disappears, his things appear in my bag and the journal says that Halsin decided to leave. I'm about at the end of the second act
He's still in my camp in the night scene. But he's gone when I finish sleeping and travel to the Act 1 destination, and then go back to the camp.
I didn't actually travel to the Shadowlands proper yet. I did everything in the Underdark, rode the elevator, which triggered Act 2. Then I went back to the Mountain Pass to do the Creche.
So this might be the game partially thinking I'm reacing Act 3, where he leaves?
Which means when I continue with that path, I basically completely cut myself off from any of the Halsin stuff in Act 2, no?
I killed Minthara, though, and all the other Goblin leaders.
So maybe my save thinks I went with her instead now? Ugh
Somehow, the game got confused there for me.
But I don't know if that is retroactively broken due to Patch #1. The save was orginally from Hotfix #4. I don't think I've checked the journal when I made that save yesterday.
I did so and attached a save from end of Act 1 (correct state, according to the journal) and one from start of Act 2 (wrong state, according to the journal).
Probably a good idea for you to do similar, so the they have more points to compare to see what's wrong, and know there's more people affected.
What should I do ? I didn't have the opportunity to do the creche quest... And I don't want to lose Halsin.
I messed around with the corpse of Minthara, talked some more with Halsin, checked the druid grove, etc. Nothing helped.
You might want to submit a bug report (see my comment above) to notify them that more people are affected by the bug. And send them your save (or two, as I did, see above), so that they have more data points to check, and see what our game state has in common that might trigger the issue.
How did you go about with the goblin camp / druids quest? Might be that something we did there triggered the issue.
Me, I free Sazza, let her lead me to Minthara, then convinced her to not kill Sazza. Then I told Minthara that no, I'm not going to attack the grove, I'm going to kill her instead. So I killed Minthara. I also talked to her with Speak with Dead afterwards to learn a few things. Then In went after all the other goblin leaders (unfortunately, Sazza turned hostile when I attacked the priestess, so I killed her as well).
I then went outside, killed all the goblins there. Then I searched the camp for ages for Halsin, both inside and outside. I also stepped over the area boundary to the forest a few times. When I finally found the door to the kennel where Halsin was kept, he already freed himself.
I then went back to the grove, where the tieflings greeted me happily, met Halsin there, did the party, etc.
So I did talk to Minthara a bit about all the jazz and I do have one Journal entry about how Minthara said something. Might be that the game misidentifies this as me going all the way instead of "betraying" her.
