Sources of high Thunder/Bludgeoning/Force damage?
I'm trying to make better use of the Frozen condition, which gives Vulnerability (+100% damage) to Thunder, Bludgeoning, and Force damage. But it only applies to one instance of a damage of those types, so you'd want the highest single instance of Thunder/Bludgeoning/Force damage possible.

Chromatic Orb (ideally upcast and with auto-crit) is a solid choice for Thunder.
As is a maximized damage Thunder spell from a Tempest Cleric.
I'm not a big fan of "barrelmancy" but that can potentially be used for Force.
I believe Disintegrate is Force as well.
Great Weapon Master + Bludgeoning 2 hander should work.

What other high damage abilities of these types are there? Can a Rogue get a big Bludgeoning hit through a Sneak Attack? Something else?

I dont believe rogues can get bludgeoning because it has to be a finesse weapon for a sneak attack.

That's what I thought but I was hoping there was some way to convert it somehow.

Oh wow . . really?

I'll have to look into utilising my cold spells even more to help my cleric.

She hits like a train with thunder / lightning damage already. Me blasting her foe with cold as well is going to be delicious!

[edit]

Thanks :) Her build is already OTT but this is gonna rock!

That'd work!

There are also some parasite talents that give you additional force damage, as well as one that lets you auto crit, which would be very nice if you have a thicc bludgeoning weapon that also deals any of the damage types you need

Well Frozen isn't terribly easy to apply. Wet + Chilled = Frozen, and Wet is *super* easy... but Chilled is more challenging. You can get that through the Mourning Frost staff or apply Frozen more directly by stacking Encrusted with Frost, but they have a save.

What happens to me is my cold Sorc unintentionally applies Frozen to Wet enemies at times and since I've lost the +100% damage from both Wet and Chilled, I want to take advantage of Frozen (likely using another party member) rather than re-applying Wet/Chilled.

2h maul with gwm? Though even with a crit thats only 4d6+10 +strength +any weapon enchant

Yeah no bludgeoning damage for Rogues, they can't sneak attack with non finesse weapons
An auto crit from some 2H specialized (GWM) Fighter, Pally or Barb with a big bad 2H Hammer also do tremendous damage, like some doubled die +20, everything then doubled with Vuln, and you can do it every round 2 or 3 times a round (except the doubled crit die, which in fact don't do that much more)

Disintegrate is probably the highest single instance of damage you can achieve.
Unless you can line up a sick owlbear bomb, It's bludgeoning damage.
Or all fists monk with high as possible STR and DEX with tavern brawler? If you're getting a bunch of targets low and frozen they can sweep through and clean them up.

There is a hand crossbow that deals all its damage as force damage IDK if it makes sneak attacks deal force, but its worth a try.

This is the kind of thing I'm looking for. Do you remember the name of it? Sneak Attack is supposed to inherit the base damage type.

Ok . .

well, I don't exactly know the whole dynamics of the cold / frozen state so can't comment a lot about it - however if it helps with bludgeoning and / or thunder that's immense!

I took the inspiration from a build re: multi class paladin / cleric. You get the benefits of a strong cleric, and a strong paladin with an unbelievable alpha strike.

Look up BG 3 Tiamat cleric on YT and use it as a baseline for you experimentation, especially with all the lightning based items you can get for utilising the full range of the clerics abilities. My cleric is still only level 4 at the minute but she is probably as strong as my dedicated fight, with a host of spells to back her up. Once I look into utilising freeze to help her with the force of the storm, she is going to annihilate!

:) such fun!

(and I'm using it on Shadowheart btw - so you don't necessarily need a dragonborn)
