Is there a CURE not a temporary fix for Gales condition?
Title say's it all Is there a Cure as in NEVER needing to give another artifact EVER to gale for his Issue? I'd like to explore his storyline more but NOT at the cost Larian has placed on his storyline. I don't care if I'd sell the item consumed anyway for only 1 gold, That's not the point. Forced decisions to continue the storyline is BAD GAME DESGIN.

If Gale's need can be cured I'll play the storyline to get to that point even if it doesn't happen until Act III. But if at end of game and he's still stuck with this condition I'll opt to never even pick him up. I'll run my own mage or take a companion from Withers before suffering this big middle finger to all who don't want to be forced to give up magic items for one optional characters storyline.

Sorry Larian this is ONE issue I'll die on, so to speak, because there is a work around. But if this was a MANDATORY thing for any playthrough BG3 would end up like many other games with play times lower than a standard work week.

You feed him 3 magic items and you dont have to give him any ever again. You get to that point way before you even finish act 1

You get so many magical items that giving Gale (3) for the entire game isn't that big of a deal.

The issue resolves itself after Act 1. You don't need to give him more than 3 items for the entire game.

bro there are tons and tons and tons of magical items you can give him that you will never use.

There is no solution for drug addiction, sadly, OP.

Tell me you've only fed him once without telling me you've only fed him once.

You feed him 3 times before he stops asking, the game literally showers you in greens you can give him (some of them not even usable due to party comp constraints).

It's a really lame mechanic, but as others have said you only give him three items total and the first act is full of useless trash items.

Thank You Sir_Baldur, That answers the ultimate question. If I was going to have to feed his addiction for the entire game he'd become a non-starter. I hate being forced to do anything in a game that has a sacrifice like this even if it is minor.

You're not forced though, you have the option to ignore it, man I'd hate to see you find the Mirror of Loss

hmmm, my first run ended (final dialogues) with 3 of the Origin characters (final) dead due to choices, and a couple who didn't bother showing up, so enh to Gale's issue if you don't want him around for it.

gale can learn scrolls worth several thousand in gold and you begrudge maybe 400 gold for 3 miserly items

but to be true, I also felt that way

The majority of this thread was complete cringe. God forbid a role playing game give you a companion that requires you to make a sacrifice. Three items for a good caster with a pretty good storyline is a good trade. Sorry that the possible but highly unlikely chance that you wont be able to totally min/max your character was too much and nearly ruined what has proven to be the most successful game launch in Steam history.
