Auto Join Dialogue / Discussion / Conversation
Hey everyone.

My wife and I are waiting for this to be implemented so we can play Co-op together and not miss any conversation or have to quickly press the little ear every single time one of us interacts with something, etc.

There have been a bunch of hot fixes and now this first patch.

Can anyone actively playing the game, and better so in co-op, let us kindly know if this is an option yet?

Thank you kindly. Looking forward to playing!

I hope they don't waste any actual dev time on this.

Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't they be interested in making it an enjoyable Co-op experience to play with family and/or friends?

And in this case, selling 2 more copies of the game. Not that they need it I know, but nevertheless.

Literally just communicate that you're talking to a character, or better yet. just do everythign together. this is simply not something that needs implemented and the experience would be extremely jarring. walking through the streets to suddenly get pulled into dialogue that im not in control of.

This. It would be a huge hassle for playing with other people, especially once you get to a settlement with a lot of npc's.

Simply make it an option to toggle in the game.

We do plan on playing together and sticking side by side for the most part, but from playing the demo and watching others stream, even when stopping every single time one of us is going to interact with something to let the other one know and ask if they are ready, they have to press it immediately or they miss the first part of the conversation.

A simple option to turn it on or off would serve everyone.

You could also have an option to only auto pull in within a certain range of the conversation. Lord knows this game has the ability to decipher what range characters are to each other.

No it would not serve people who don't care about it and all it would do is waste valuable dev time on a feature that isn't needed. There are more important things to use that limited time on. This change would add 0 value for the vast majority of players who A) play solo or B) can easily work around it.

I would absolutely use this if it was an option, particularly because the ear icon often glitches out.

Also, for people saying this wastes dev time, I can't realistically see this taking more than a couple hours to implement. The game already does this in many situations, for example when triggering certain cutscenes that will always be shown to everyone in the area even if they're not part of it.

Compared to the existing scope of the game this is peanuts.

I agree with your thoughts for sure. My coding ability is rather rudimentary but I can't see this taking too long to add as an option.

In any case, the main point of the post was to ask if it was an option as of the latest patch, as me and my wife are eagerly looking forward to playing together and just waiting on this to make the Co-op experience more enjoyable for us.

Appreciate the info! We will keep an eye out!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Very reasonable suggestion and likely that the range should be the default option.
