The "I Told You So" Thread Regarding Gale
• Made it less ambiguous that you're starting a romance with Gale when choosing certain dialogue options.
• During Gale's spell-teaching scene, you now have the option to picture a future with Gale that falls somewhere in between kissing him and kicking him in the head.

There you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. I told people they’d have egg on their face when the first big patch dropped, and here we are.

So no, folks, you don’t “have difficulty reading social cues”, nor do you “not know how flirting works in the real world”, nor were you “lying” because you’re part of some alt right conspiracy or shadow council against the LGBT community. You were, quite simply, reporting an issue with the game and getting berated and gaslighted for it by a group of people who are supposedly tolerant.

I’m not normally big on gloating, but the small group of dedicated defenders (they know who they are) took great satisfaction in harassing, reporting and then using phrases like “you’ve been proven wrong”, despite no proof actually being presented. Now the proof has in fact arrived; they have been proven wrong.

Gale and your character will spend the entire game convinced they are in the opening stages of a relationship if you pass the innocent skill checks in the weave scene, even if you back out the very first moment available to you once it becomes clear it’s a romance initiation. This false trigger for a “relationship” led to multiple immersion-breaking scenes throughout the game, such as Gale making jarring comments about his attraction to you, your character having the option to think about your attraction to him to distract a mind probe, references to the “night you spent together” in multiple dialogues, and Gale making a relatively disapproving comment if you enter into a relationship with anybody else, to name a few. This is why people perceived he was “forcing himself” on them or “wouldn’t take no for an answer”; the game was treating you as in a relationship without you being aware and you have no option to tell it otherwise.

I’m sure there will be a great deal of cope and straw-clutching semantics in the thread, my suggestion is if you were on the right side of this topic, just compliment anybody you disagree with so they can’t abuse the report function to silence you for being “inflammatory”. Plus, they can probably use the self-esteem boost of a compliment after stepping on a rake this hard.

And if they do manage to get that red lettering to appear next to our names again regardless, oh well; won’t change the fact we were right.

Much better, thank you. Being right is always cathartic. I'm sure you get proven right often so this will be familiar to you. Thank you for your contribution. :)

The question to you OP is...Why do YOU HAVE to be right?
He isn't, the truth is.

The truth is that many people on this forum gaslit and railroaded many other people who pointed out problems and bugs with the dialogue and romance. That happened. And if you were one of the people being called a bigot for pointing out bugs, it is vindicating to see the bugs fixed.

Impossible.

The teaching the weave scene is litterally gale's first scene. Ya know, the one where is he 'conjuring' a picture of mystra.

We're not talking about entire scenes, we're talking about the stages of dialogue.

But you are well-groomed and people find you easy to be around. :)

But this scene isnt 'romancing' if you imitate, and say you're a great teacher.

I never had him cuddle to me because of that.

Later party at camp I was offered to sleep with gale, guess what, said no too.

Not one bit of romance after

I never cuddled him either, my player just stood close to him, passed the skill check, then they started looking at eachother with homosexual intent and I backed out. But after that point the game thought I was pursuing Gale, all because I copied a magic hand symbol.

Said no at the first opportunity I got, right after the narrator out of nowhere says "the scene is intimate" and they cosy up together without you asking. It's already too at that point, merely passing the skill check that leads directly into the "intimate" scene flags you as pursuing Gale, and there is no way to set the record straight.

Shocking isn't it, that there might have been a kernel of truth to countless thousands of people all reporting the same thing.

But your posts are insightful and I respect you a lot.
And idgaf about your opinion about me.
The fact that you felt the need to do a "I told you so" thread instead of just enjoying that something you had a problem with got seemingly fixed tells me all about the person you are.

Anyway, have fun not having to be afraid of the evil gay wizard anymore.

This thread will miss your valuable contributions, but if it has to be this way, such is life. I wish you all the luck in the world for your next thread, though.

I guess now you know what it's like being relentlessly pursued and that so much as making eye contact as a woman is enough to get almost any male to follow you around or make them think you're interested. At least Gale doesn't threaten you or kill if you decide to reject them.

"Copied a magic hand symbol" is pretty simplistic, and calling it "homosexual intent" is making me throw up a little.

It pretty much shows that you didnt listen to a word gale said before this scene starts.
Because he literally tells you about the importance of the weave to him, and how it connects all spellcasters.

If somebody told you "This weave thing, it's like the best thing that ever happened to me, it connects me with other wizards and I literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the goddesses made of it.... do you wanna try casting magic with me" and you went "Oh so you want me to do a magic hand symbol" then they would very clearly identify you as a bad listener

Well when a game just fixed 1,000+ bugs in a patch, it's entirely possible there are many more bugs waiting to be discovered!

This is terrible and I'm sorry you have to go through this experience as a woman.

But that aint a bug.... LOL

You wanna talk about real bugs then talk about real bugs, not the inability to read choices by dialog.

The last time you lot called us liars it didn't work out too well. But I'm sure this time it will. How could somebody as thoughtful and charismatic as you be wrong?

Yeah, the right wingers really come out of the woodwork about the same time school let’s out.

No, I'm pretty sure the first camp conversation with him is the one where he talks about the "go to hell" expression, followed by the one with him using a double of himself as a mirror.
