I think my client is using older version but in my main menu my version is v.4.1.1.3669438 which is matching with my friends version how in the hell am I getting this problem? I valited yet another but to no avail help please.
Prove that you deleted it correctly.
Delete (or move) anything in the Mods folder.
Go into PlayerProfiles\Public and delete or move the modsettings.lsx file.
Then verify the game. Check that everyone playing installed the update from a few hours ago.
So I usually remove all mods from my vortex and baldurs gate 3 mod manager and manage to enter my friends game. I did the same removed all of them vortex and bg3 mod manager are empty. I manually removed any files from "C:\Users\**\Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods" and from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin\NativeMods" as well. Anything else should I do to completely remove them?
This is the 500,000th time I've seen proof that modding sucks. Thank you for reaching this milestone with me.
additionally to what you said I also deleted patch1.pak, bink2w64 and revalidated now it works finally cheers mate.
Thanks so much @j725t
I tried moving my mods folder and that fixed the problem for me as well. This is after patch #3 and hotfix #7 so the current version of the game.
If you all are using Mods that impact the Save files, then just deleting or disabling the mods won't help at all. Reinstalling the game won't help. Not sure anything can salvage your progress now.
Mods are not currently supported by Larian in BG3. Or there would be a Mods management button on the Launcher just like there is in D:OS2.
Whatever Mods you have been using have broken the game. Lesson: Don't use Mods.
