It was never meant to reduce the weight. That was a bug and they fixed it.
The chest is now working as intended.

Unfortunately chest of mundane was never meant to work as a bag of holding in the fist place...

So this patch fixed that and turned it into a basic chest with a gimmick, it is no longer useful for any reason.

Is this what you came up by yourself or does this have any proof? I don't think that plates and forks should weight 10kgs. It clearly looks like a bug after update.

It's in the full changelog...

Literally in the patch change log

Fixed a bug where adding items to the Chest of the Mundane changed the weight of an item.

Fixed an issue where the Chest of the Mundane stopped functioning as intended once you arrived in Wyrm's Crossing.

Well, that's dumb. Hopefully, someone on nexus will fix this.

There's more then one mod that change the Carryweight to insane levels. I'm using one myself. There's no need for abusing buggy items, if you are willing to mod your game already :P

It's stupid for them to make a UNIQUE MAGIC STORAGE item that characters have VOICELINES about that TRANSFORMS items into FORKS and it wouldn't change it weight...

When we use "Disguise Self" and change to Halfling we change weight as well. So magical transformation DOES CHANGE WEIGHT.

This change is simply dumb.

Big negative there...

Why even have this item in the game, they could just remove it if they don't like it.

The chest explicitly stated that items inside have reduced weight. How is that not intended?

Totally agree!
Also, I used to use Sussur Blooms to see what was what... The whole mechanic was fun and useful and balanced itself out...

You wanna carry heavy stuff, ok but you won't know what's what until you put'em back into your inventory...
You wanna know what's what inside that chest, well you can, but as long as you do you can't cast any spell... so don't go carrying the sussur with you....

THIS was FUN... and they took it away from us.... Why does this chest exists now? It's just rubbish... Not even interesting, in it's current state... I hope they roll this back!

Lol What's that? A magic item having an awesome effect on gameplay that's useful to those who realized its potential and provides an in-universe method to achieve a limited, non-game breaking version of what you cheated to obtain?

It'd help your point if you didn't talk about abuse and modding the carry limit at the same time. None too clever, eh?

the fix was intended to fix an issue where the chest permanetly changed some items weight even after they had been removed from the chest, this "fix" sims to have broken the system all together, as it will now change the items weight but the total weight of the chest is still the items full weight, witch doesnt make any sense, the chest itself stated the items added would change weight.

Chest of the mundane? My gf already has one heyoooooooooo

Yeah I really enjoyed the chest of mundane and was devasted to realize that it didn't work in act 3, now that they have just scrapped it gotta say that I have lost a fair chunk of respect for the devs, the community loved the chest of mundane being essentially a bag of holding with a gimmick, to remove it feels like a spit in the face
Zorn Aug 26, 2023 @ 7:08pm
What i dont get is WHY they would change it... i honestly thought the idea that its kinda sorta a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bag of holding was on purpose.
Pretty sad they treated it as a bug
