That seemed to work, though im not sure which of those three things actually did it. I can play just fine now...
edit: moving to a different area and attempting to save or leave the new area causes CTD
I do have an MSI board, but this isn't about the PC going blue screen on me. These are crashes back to desktop.
Like I stated in my OP, I did already verify file integrity and deleted those three cache-folders. Neither of which seems to have done the trick, since I just had another crash. I think that's three or four now in just as many BG3-sessions. Before today's patch, the game never CTDed for me like that - just those two freezes/BSODs I had, but I suspect those are probably also HW-related.
So far, the game has CTDed at least:
2x during combat
1x when trying to fast-travel
1x when loading a save-game
S.
I'm in the process of finishing Act 2, so all of this was mostly around the Inn and Moonrise Towers. Going out on a limb here and suggest that this is probably not strictly related to any one specific location. Probably could happen during any of the Acts.... I guess.
As stated before: It doesn't even seem to be linked to any specific event or player input. Sometimes it's in the middle of combat, sometimes it's when trying to fast-travel, and now it even happened when trying to quick-save. And sometimes it's just me rotating the camera, I think.
All I can say is that before the patch the game never crashed to desktop for me. Yes: A couple of BSOD "freezes", but those only happened after hours of gameplay and they only happened twice in 60+ hours.
It's strange though, because I'm seeing quite a mixed bag of people having issues. I'm watching streamers play the game with little to no issues, at least not as bad as literally not being able to save. Thinking it could be a problem on my end but I've been at it for hours now to no avail so giving it a day or two to see what the community stirs up.
Also same thing here, I don't think I had a single crash or save issue before the patch. After its been a juggle just trying to progress without crashing on save.
Game crashes on save act 3
I really want to play, but I can not
