Mage Hand Use?
I can't figure an actual practical reason to take mage hand. What can they be used for that can't just be done by a regular character?

In some fights there are objects you might want to interact with several times instead of using your turns to do so... or walking there.
It's a niche thing, but it is a thing.

Doesn't it have casting range?
You can cast it on top of a cliff where an archer is attacking you and then shove said archer down the cliff, even if your character can't reach the spot themselves.

Pushing barrels and objects is one use.

i use it to go through small dirt holes that at least of my knowledge you can only go through if you have gaseous form or mage hand

Combat can start with oil barrels too close to enemies to interact with normally, so mage hand can position things better.

I use it for advantage on Astarion's sneak attack. 1 of the requirements for it, is to have an ally within 1.5 meters. So my mage casts it next to someone, Astarion get his sneak attack, then I can slap the mob with the mage hand.

I never thought about this but, can anyone confirm if Mage Hand pick up disarmed weapons? Because that'd be kind of crazy on some fights if Lae'zel disarms, then mage hand picks up the weapon.

The only lv.1 spell I use is buffing. I usually pick this spell, but I've never found any use for it and lv.1 spell always deal less damage than cantrip spell, so I usually replace all lv.1 spell with other spells when leveling up.

magic hand killed killed the forge boss for me. the hand was at the switch for the forge hammer, while my other characters where either dead (3/4) and the other running for his live.

They can't hold them that I have found, but they can throw them at people.

It's a utility spell. Its usefulness is directly tied to your preparedness and your creativity. If you are neither prepared nor creative. Then it's useless for you.
