Is ASI even worth it?

Considering how many stat enhanching stuff there is in the game ( talking about physical stats, Str and Dex ) is it even worth it to invest in ASI instead of another feat?

Depends on the build. For some you really don't need more than 1 feat and then the +1 from ASI gives you more.

Also not every stat is equal as far as your chances to raise them go.

90% of the time, yes. Having +5 bonus to attack, damage rolls and increasing the saving thorw for your spells is very important, so getting at least one ASI + a feat that gives you +1 to your main stat is very good.

Also, gear comes with opportuniy cost. If you use gear to boost your stats, you can't wear any other gear in that slot to keep your stats. ASIs enable you to have good stats and good gear.

In general, if your build needs a feat, you get it ASAP. GWM, PAM, Dual-Wield are lifesavers when you get them. But at level 8 or 12, a passive bonus will help you more.

I consider it to be a filler, what you choose if there is no better choice. I actually found myself picking alert as filler feat because opportunity to strike first is a gamechanger in every turn-based game really.
