About Halsin

There will be spoilers in the text about some companions and moments in the game, so if you haven't made it to act 3, better don't read it:

Seriously, I can't stand Halsin. He seems to me a mediocre, boring and meme character. Whose motivation for joining you is "he wants to ♥♥♥♥ your character". Minthara lacks content, but she is a much more interesting character and with more depth, Halsin should never have been cast as a partner. Perhaps he would have been amused by a conceptual change, as a chaotic ranger who ignores everything and everyone, but his way of being directly clashes with the concept of wise archdruid. I don't know when a man-child like Halsin could manage to direct anything xD.

In mechanical terms, the role of druid is already covered by Jaheira, who is a much more iconic character and with much more participation in act 3. Halsin is pure filler, and his real participation ends as soon as you finish his quest to turn him into a companion . Halsin is a bunch of jokes about him being a promiscuous muscle-bound elf who turns into a bear. It is that even, if we were "forced" to have to get a companion from the grove in act 1, I would have stayed a thousand times with Kagha.

The only reason I'm putting him in my party is so Orin the Red doesn't deprive me of another, more interesting partner.

It would have been preferable to keep Halsin as Volo, someone outside the party, but who helps him, and instead of another druid, include Alfira or some other non-druid character of any class as a partner. And, as I say, if we eat two druids in the group, Kagha is much more interesting than Halsin, and could have many dialogues with Jaheira.

That being said, it would be greatly appreciated if there were more non-origin partners covering the rest of the classes. Yes, I know that there are mercenaries, but what I like is the content and the dialogues. There are very few companions compared to the original Baldur's and other RPGs from the same school.
