Need help on the hag part, in the cave under the teahouse, am doing terribly
So I cast protection from good and evil on Shadowheart, put on the mask and headed past that weird gate, right? Trying to make it past the next four enemies in there, the mask is supposedly the way to avoid aggro, but I keep failing the wisdom checks almost right off the bat.
I guess I can always fight these guys, but the very first turn has the "terror" guy nearly killing Astarion, so looks like a tough one that I'd rather avoid if I could. Is there some spell or something I could use to get Shadowheart's wisdom up a little more?

if you cant handle those guys its very likely youre not going to be able to handle what's after them. what level are you?

also, astarion should be sneaking most of the time, not getting hit
Just kill your way through and heal up

Don't use the mask, just non lethal then move forward, if you're having trouble here i would suggest coming back after you've leveled up.

The reason for using non lethal attacks here is because once you finish with the hag, you can come back and free these charmed peasants. I didn't know this during my play though so I just killed them all as I passed though.

Adding a bit of explanation as to why you might want to use non lethal attacks here...

Do be aware, even though you are trying to politely knock them unconscious, they are trying to kill you! :)

You can cheese the fight something awfully if you want to :

sneak around the back of the witch to the fireplace, make a fairly easy perception check to discover the illusion. put out the fireplace walk into the new room and back - at this point you should be in the same room as her, before the dialog starts. place two barrels on the in the doorway between the rooms. She now can't escape after the dialoge, and breaks her invis to attack you.

enter turn based mode, put on the mask, move everybody past the door, take off the mask

Massacre or non-lethal the masks, focus down the one healing them first

jump past the waterfall, make your way down with careful jumps, you can go up the other side and through another door into the underdark (same method), explore until you're out of 'red'

full rest

go back and tear the hag a new one

I'm level 4, granted I'm not that great of a player, but that's where my actual quantifiable level is lol

Very good to know, thanks a lot man, would much rather do it that way.

Very good to know, I may just have to look further into that, thank you.

Thanks much for the detailed step by step...I think I'm going to try the non-lethal approach. Just need to figure out how to do that. I saw the pop-up come up saying something about it but wasn't quick enough to read it. Is it something obvious? I'll probably Google it here before my next round of playing.

non-lethal is a toggle on each char, look on the right of your ability bar

I just stealthed past them and alpha striked the hag although I had the benefit of hindsight since I played through this part over a year ago.

Once you get the guard pattern down it isn't too hard but you will have to move your characters one a time.
