Everburn Blade Bug
Whenever I equip this sword, for some reason I never sheath it. I get that it's literally on fire. But I feel like I'm threatening everyone I come across when I waltz up to them with it in hand at the poise.

Feels, not actually threatening.

Also press U to sheath, if that doesn't work then I guess the sword actually can't be sheath

Edit: not everything is bug.

But wouldn't the sheathe burn? Also visible shields on back when?

That sword doesn't sheath right, it was considered a bug when the game was in early access but there's a slight possibility that it was never meant to be sheathed because it's on fire.

That's not a bug. Great swords are huge and can't even sit on the back of most characters. They just carry them which is better then seeing it clip into the ground everywhere you go. A weapons effects also wouldn't hurt the wielder unless stated/cursed it's always been implied they deactivate when needed.

i think you cant sheathe it because its burning

without having logged in to double check, i thought you could not sheathe any of the "great" weapons... except maybe 7ft tall Karlach.

Normal greatswords (and other heavy weapons) are stowed on the back in BG3.

The Everburning blade is not. However, its not the only weapon like that- the wyrmling staff (+1 to hit, does extra 1-4 burning damage) also is not stowed on the back like other staves. Your character will forever hold it like a walking staff (which is kinda cool sometimes).

So its either a bug with burning weapons, or a choice made for burning weapons. I am inclined to believe it is a choice of the devs.

Ah icic. I've always just used the everburn with the occasional swap to susser during combat so it seemed they were all held like that. Maybe just dev decision to show off its effect. They would normally just activate when you hit something.

I'm pretty sure it's a bug. My everburn blade is sheathed on my characters back, still on fire. It just doesn't show up in cutscenes. Also, the item description of the blade explicitly states that it only catches fire after being unsheathed.

My character is an average sized human male btw. So, it's clearly not a size thing.
