You need to actually be line of sight of them (as in character facing thier direction) for the checks to happen.
While I can see that having two layers of "characters can see characters" being more difficult to implement, this seems like a cheap way to resolve it.
That's so dumb...
I'm currently in an area with lots of invisible enemies dozen of rooms, multiple layers, and corners.... And See Invisibility is kinda useless like this...
It also seems like they do the check only once, and if they save, they just invisible for eternity.
EDIT:...... I made the last creature, which I didn't even could hit with an AOE-Attack..,. visible with create water...
Yes as stated above its a DEX save v. the spell DC of the person who cast the spell. If they suceed you don't get to see them.
Ive noticed it seems to always work when Im not in combat but is half and half when in combat.
I also wonder if they maybe had an issue with volos eye and invisibility bause letting one character see the creature but not everyone else may be tricky?
