Why is there no Bard companions?

So in the game you meet with several different companions but I don't think I came across a bard that actually joins your group.

I mean I know Alfrira was a wanted companion from early access but they completely minimize her role in the game. I mean she plays this song which was awesome by the way.

But other than becoming a bard yourself or respecting one of your companions, there is really no bard that joins your party.

No Jasper like character like from the Witcher series.

Is this another thing that got cut. Was Alfrira supposed to a be a companion?

Alfira can join you as a bard, though.

Alfira can join you as a bard, though.

I don't think she can. Other than joining your camp for the night celebration. She doesn't join you permanently.

If she does, I am lost for words that I missed it.

You're wrong, Astarion is the best bard in the game and also Shadowhaert, promise. Try it out!

I made a 2nd custom character which looks like my free company comrade. Later on he became as bard a killing machine...

Because Deekin Scalesing was the greatest bard to ever live. And making another bard companion would just pale in comparison.

Make one - In camp take over one of your companions and respec them with Withers

Volo is too important to D&D lore.

Even Volo would have been a good choice for a bard,

It just seems like a class like a bard is so DnD and yet no Bard character.

It makes sense for Lae'zel or Gale to be in their perspective class, it fits the story. Sure you can respect them. But Gale as a bard. Really, doesn't make sense later on in the story.

Same reason there isn't a sorcerer, or monk? There isn't a companion for every possible class.
