Have you noticed how camp scenes with companion banter have abruptly ended and you no longer get any character growth for any of them?
No it won't get better, that's it. Everything was cut out. Only Shadowheart gets some.
1/3rd of the Zone missing, a part of the zone that contains all of the exposition needed to make me care about Gortash and Cazzador outside of Karlach and Asterion. Karlachs entire Act 3 questline is cut content that doesn't exist because it was in the upper city.
Companions go from being active and commenting on every other quest to suddenly be completely lifeless and silent, apart from Jaheira and Minsc.
Tons of quests that have been cut short or had content removed, for example isntead of a Hag Coven its just Auntie Ethel, AGAIN.
The list goes on and on and on... Not to mention the bugs, how the game just assumes you've munched tadpoles even if you do everything you can to avoid touching anything tadpole related.
because Larian made a huge mistake of having act 2. If you go back you'd recall that throughout act 2 you just run across a generic hostile area taking 90% of the whole act2 map and kill stuff - which gets you about 5 or 6 levels but nothing to remember them by because most quests were dull murder romps.
BG3 should not have 2/3 of Act 2 and have all Act 3 intact instead (with Avernus and Upper City). It would've been absolutely great. You'd reach level 12 by the end of Act 3 then. And have all companion quests resolved.
And then it turns out none of it mattered - you could've used all the tadpoles to make your character an absolute battle god - but the outcome for using 0, using any and using all is the same. As in - no outcome.
BG3 in a way is like watching GoT. You get hooked up hard during first 5 seasons, you are kinda ok with 6 and 7 because while they are worse - they are still OK - but then season 8 happens.
"can you come back after a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations"
People can enjoy act 3, its not bad, if you ignore the plethora of bugs it's even good, but compared the amazing previous chapters it's a huge step down. Your mileage may vary depending on what parts of the game you enjoyed.
