Maybe you should realize that Neverwinter isn't faithful but only inspired by D&D rule set and is more a kin to WoW ? And that the BG games have always tried to be actually faithful to the D&D tabletop rules ?
Its also NOT A GOOD THING SO PNP IS NOT ALL THAT GREAT WHICH IS CLEAR WHEN YOU TRANSLATE IT INTO A VIDEO GAME.
Its not only NWN either its a ton of other dnd games.
Baldurs Gate 1 and 2... same thing. You can get to level 40 your characters become immensely OP and you know what.... PLAYERS LOVED IT.
Pathfinder.... AMAZING GAMES.
Icewindale1&2 AMAZING GAMES
Now I still like BG3 so far. But stop being delusional about history of dnd games.
1 - download mods to increase level cap and have fun
2 - learn how to play and have fun - game is very easy and more level just became faceroll
3 - dont compare, thats the actual game embrace it and have fun
4 - play with friends and do stupid troll stuff and have fun
5 - unistall and go back and play Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 + all the expansions and have fun
6 - sometimes just need to take a break
And becides why limit yourself to 40, you could quite easily reach 160 with slight tweak to the files!
Its probably between 10-14 depending on your class. Thiefs need less experience I remember.
But I remember my dua class bezerker 7/mage9.
So I will guess a bezerker prob capped at 9 or 10.
Again though in SoD capp increases to 500k which is usually another 2 levels
BG2 is where its like baloons out to get to 31 for mages/sorcerors and 40 for fighters and rogues
I am not the one complaining either.
I just hope they add more content and then increase the level cap in future.
..... base game BG you can get 12, with expansion the soft cap is 22. The highest anyone has ever gotten on record that i'm aware of is 24, and that's by cheesing alot. (because it's not that you cannot get a higher level, it's that you run out of sources of exp....)
Also, i'm not even going to bother what attempting to being faithful means vs just losely inspired. Clearly with the aggressive tone you take you have no actual desire in a honest argument, you just want to shout and feel superior and be right.
But please do continue to lecture me on a games series I have 3000+ hours in.....
