Both Underdark & Shadow-Cursed Lands - Time sensitive for main story?
I've read many posts about doing both Underdark and Shadow-Cursed Lands and know it is possible. But will the time it takes affect parts of the main story?

As an example; I'm in the Shadow-Cursed Lands at the Last Light Inn; after the attack. If I continue to the point of no return and then go back to do Underdark too; will this affect the survival of the teiflings and others that are prisoners in the Moonrise Towers?

I'm worried it will. If it does I'll do the Underdark in a second playthrough instead.

Point of no return for Shadowlands is Nightsong/Thorm's artefact. When you do it all unresolved side quests get bad ending.

I see. Will it warn me like when entering Act 2? And if I go back to do Underdark before that point; will the time that progresses affect the survival of the characters I mention in the post?
As far as i know if you dont touch that quest you are ok. I went back to act 1 and mountain pass to get long rest scenes and some items. I did 10 back to back long rests, returned back to Shadowlands and continued the quest like normal. Game warns you when you try to enter Nightsong prison for the first time

It's hard for me to answer this because I play the game according to the destruction scenario, so I can go wherever I want

I see! Thank you very much for the explanation. This puts me at ease a bit. Then I'll keep my eyes open and probably keep going til then and then do Underdark. There shouldn't be any negative to doing both right?

No, you are actually encouraged to do so since both areas, mountain pass and under dark, are filled with side quests and extremely powerful items which you will use until end of game
