Not enough information. It could be on your side or their side.
Start with both restarting their router and given IP by the ISP. Then check again. Make screenshots of the error messages.
The thread is so old - what you have is a different issue, most likely.

Maybe this works for you! Just try it out. If your friends are not launching the game over steam (direct via lariLauncher/GOG/etc.) it would explain why only you have the issue!
Guys it is really simple. Close Steam completely, get into your Steam Installation files (Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Launcher) and start the LariLauncher from there. It opens BG3 without starting steam. Then you start your multiplayer Session and invite your friend via direct link code.
Yes.... its that easy and took us way to long to figure out...
You do not even need the LariLauncher for that. The direct link code you would get either way, regardless if starting with or without Steam.
Directly using the executable. Either with or without Steam, you can get the direct connect code.
I believe my take via lari launcher is more user friendly, since it puts you in the same, known interface which you would get when pressing the "Play" Button on Steam but without the issue (Many of us even have a larian Account logged in there)
But yes. Your solution also works. I just put my take in this discussion so the users have a program path they can follow.
