All dead? Even in the goblin camp/druid grove?

There should be a lockpick in the Last Light inn basement (behind the bars).

I'm impressed you NEED a lockpick this badly. What is your party composition?
My rogue managed to get through basically every lock up to that point in the game, but a bit of exploration also found me keys to basically all essential doors or chests, usually after I had to picked the locks.
If you don't have a rogue, keys are scattered about for important locks. Or the knock spell. Or bashing things down...

You can get a spell that unlock locks, also you can smash it. In act 2 we can actually go back to Act 1 areas.

If you've managed to denude the map of lockpicks you might be able to get one by recruiting the hireling rogue from Shivers, I think they come with one but am not 100% sure.

Ah, praise be. Yes, there is one. Thank you. I know we can go back to the other act and I admit it probably sounds like more of a task than it is, but it isn't something I really wanted to do. The goblin camp is still alive but they want to fight me on sight and the grove is dead. Act 1 seems to have far more lockpicks than Act 2 so I probably could have found one there, but the whole moonrise tower and the bar nearby. Nothing....

I am in fact playing a rogue, I used every lockpick I had collected so far trying to open the vault. I think it is the one right next to where you first meet Balthazar and it was to roll a 30 to open. Goodbye lockpicks..
There is just many chests that I want to get into but can't and it was making me sad.

don't even need a rogue... my sorcerer has been doing just fine with picking locks.

or just have someone with high str smash the locks instead

Haha nice, I'm also playing a sorc with lockpick skills. I chose the charlatan background. As to the OP you don't even need to be good at lockpicking to open a lock all you need to do is roll a natural 20. It might take a bunch of lockpicks but it's doable, I opened a couple of difficulty 30 locks that way. The worst case was burning through like 6 lockpicks.

This would be entirely luck based. Some might roll that 20 on their first try, some might roll it on their 50th. Correct, it IS doable, but it can use up all your lockpicks before you roll that magical 20.
