what are the conditions for Gale (regarding the ending)
to give up his plans for godhood and to give the crown to Mystra?

in my ending he wants to fish up the pieces and ascend, he even tells me that i'm the one that told him to do so while in reality i've been telling him this entire time that the crown is nothing but bad news and that i'm not helping him to no such thing (earning me disapproval along the way, even though i was still max approval by the end).

he basically throws a hissy fit and walks off into the sunset which is beyond weird.

i understand there are endings where he does give the crown to Mystra but i'm not sure those are achieved, are those reserved for Origins or romance?

I had the same thing , I thought it was a bug . I never encouraged him to keep the crown . Luckily I managed to persuade him to not pursue it.

In my ending he sacrificed himself to blow up the netherbrain, then turned up in the ending sequence to have a chat to my character. Magic, for real.

I dunno, I skipped through his dialogue because he was trying to have sex with me again.

How?? I’m trying to unlock the romantic scene with him since Act 1 but he’s totally ignoring me!

I just told him earlier I didn't think that was a good idea, but I'll think about it. Then he had a meeting with Mystra at the temple and he was sorry... and in the ending he said he'd find the crown and give it to her to redeem himself.

My ending with Gale was that he wanted to fish the Crown back up only so that nobody will do it for evil sakes.
If he starts going about the power he could get, a duel with Mystra, the game registered you as making him too power hungry. Could be a bug because of the Patches changing a lot of things about Gale and thus having the wrong reaction.

Having trawled reddit, I think the options with Gale in Act 3 are either 'encourage Gale to take the crown and become a god', or 'encourage Gale to go back to Mystra and earn her forgiveness'. It may be the case that before he talks to Mystra at the temple, you need to tell him to apologise to her or you'll lock him into taking the crown for himself regardless of what you say.

Gale also dumped me at the end of the game because I thought Mystra sucked and we should just destroy the crown without her. Good luck making it there without me, nerd!

i chose option 4 "not to say anything just to learn and listen" but now im afraid. after he comes out the audiance with mystra he is completly different, before he was just kissing me in the boat telling me how our lvoe overcomes ambiton but now reading peoples comments im afraid and may reload to pick option 2. the issue is, i dont want to give the crow to mystra, im torn actually, i want gale and me to become Gods to help people but im also afraid he may end up a evil God. conlicted.

God -Gale is definitely NOT the good ending. And he will empower evil people as well as good. God-Gale, he confirms this at the end if he ascends

So their is no way Gale can become a Good god? okay well i hope the game lets me persuade him at the end to not use the crown, all i have done in this game is tell him not to go after it. His reaction to me like i said coming back from the audaince was just so out of character compared to the boat sceen we just had.

I think my problem is i neither want to return it to mystra or ascend gale, so the game doesnt know what to do with me. I was hoping to destory it.

I think im on the right path, "if you encouraged Gale earlier, Gale will leave to craft a new crown, promising to return after he has ascended to ascend you as well if you romanced Gale." - We will rule as Gods takign care of the people for good.

Spoilers.

He becomes the god of ambition. Is that good or bad? Put it this way:

Wyll has ambitions, though there are different ones he can pursue, say, in Avernus, in the Frontiers, or in the city.
Raphael has ambitions. Where his ambitions will lead, that's the problem.

You can ask Tara how she feels about this. Tara knows the skinny.

There's even the dialogue in the epilogue where your Tav can ask Gale "what about ambitious evil people" and he's like "they can do what they want, i just oversee ambition" and it's like the most shortsighted illogical response. He really is continuing the power-hungry cycles of abuse from Mystra if he ascends, but thats my opinion
