Cringe levels... high?
Game Cringy? Not Cringy? Let me know what you think.

I'm just putting out some feelers, trying to decide if I want to play this. Gameplay looks excellent but from what I've seen on YouTube, I have concerns over the game's general tone.

I don't know if all the hyper-sexualized stuff I've seen is commonplace in the game or if I've just been exposed to it on YouTube because it generates clicks.

I'm not gonna debate politics or morality. Just want to hear some honest perspectives from cool-minded individuals.

EDIT: Just want to say that the sexual content isn't really my main concern (although it is directly related), it's the WRITING and TONE as a whole that I want to hear opinions about

Not really. Even if someone wanted to insist that all the romance/relationships for all the characters are awful (which they aren't) that would all still be limited to conversations at camp, which are the smallest part of the game. All the normal writing and banter while adventuring is totally fine.

Forums: Cringy up to 11 out of 10.

The romancing of the game makes up less than 1% of the content and is mostly front loaded. Depending on how your playthrough goes you can feel overwhelmed by multiple companions hitting on you at once.

It's usually very clear which option is going to lead to romance, and there's always the option to decline if you get yourself into a situation you didn't mean to.

Companions themselves can be hit or miss based on your own personal beliefs, some of them start out kind of grating and become more endearing as the story progresses and you find out more about who they are.

Wouldn't really call any of it cringe, definitely diverse though.

If you like D&D rules and turn based combat, play it.

The game is actually pretty cool, lotta the people round here on the other hand....

That's entirely up to you to decide, what you're asking is subjective. For you it may be considered 'cringy'. For myself, not so much. If you're worried about nudity and the sexual side. There's a nudity toggle and the romance options in the game are entirely up to how you choose your dialogue and can be avoided easily if that is your wish.

No, it's taken out of context for humor or attention.
Very immersive plot. The first half of the game is still the greatest RPG I've played.

As you said, the gameplay is excellent. Great story and dialogue, great voice acting. I will be honest it is easy to accidentally romance an NPC when not meaning to, but you only ever talk to them in camp which is usually just a short conversation and then back to like 3-4 hours of gameplay before you go back to camp. If you find romance and sex scenes "cringy" then they are completely skippable and self contained so you wont miss a thing. I find the characters to be quite charming, save for a few designed to be more abrasive, so I don't mind a line or two of flirting every 5 hours.

I so so very wish this was true.

Gale stopped me in Act 2 while in the shadow woods to tell me the constant threat of death made him want to shag me.

I never once attempted to romanced this man.

Some things are extremely cringe but overall it's alright.

The sexual stuff is done horribly imo. Most companions act like a hooker

Yes, but hearing lots of subjective opinions helps to paint a clearer picture of things

Wether the Game is Sexualized depends mostly on you.

If Characters Like You enough they might make Advances or be Open to Advances from You.

You Accepting or Promoting them is your Choice.

BG3 is all about making Decisions.
Including the Decision to Say No or Walk Away without clicking any further Dialogue Options.

Alot of People are used to just exhausting all Dialogue Options.
But thats a very Bad Idea in Baldurs Gate.
As It leads to Fights or Romances etc.
Hence these People then Cry about being Forced into Romance by Gale because Gale will try to Charme the Player if he likes him enough.

Beyond that. There aint much Sex unless You specifically go for it.

I swear some of you are posting these as humble brags now.

Just avoid karlach and you'll avoid quite a bit of cringe.
