Is there any reason not to "extract all ingredients" in alchemy ?
see title,
please no spoilers if that somehow would be necessary

I am not sure if it also makes potions out of the ingredients. If it does, then there is a reason not do it: the same ingredient can go in several potions.

Short answer is no.

yes if you have a certain quest item in underdark

The only situation I can think of is using mugwort to make the fancy cure-all poison druid elixir, which requires the actual mugwort bundles, not the extracts, but that's about it.

I can think of one quest in the Underdark where you need to get 2 ingredients and it needs the raw ingredients, not the extracts.

There's at least one thing that you can make with a single mugwort or something, I think, at the druid place. I think it trades one regular mugwort for a cure all antidote or something, but making the antidote anywhere else requires three mugwort sublimates, which is three mugworts.

But I can count on one hand the amount of times I was actually poisoned in this game and actually had to use an antidote, lol.

Just make sure you do any potion making with a Wizard Transmutor with proficiency, even expertise, in Medical. Or don't - it doesn't really matter, but if you wanna be minmaxy to your full potential, that's the way to go about it.

There's also a dog's grave that you can leave flowers on, which would require you to have the actual ingredient on hand.

Shadowheart's Night Orchid. I made the mistake of smashing all these beauties into dust before giving the gift to Shadowheart . BUT after a little research, I found one for sale at the Myconid Colony from Derryth Bonecloak. Too bad I didn't find out about not destroying the noblestalk mushroom until that point like 60 hours later.

Weird. When I tried that the Night Orchid was unaffected by the feature.
