So.......How do I defeat Shar in House of Grief
This game is really peeving me now. So some of you might Know about when I wanted advice on defeating Z'rell and I found out as I was only a level 6 party and no harper helpers I would have no chance so it was either quit and start the whole game again which I didn't want to do because I had plans for Shadowheart or Wemod it (cheat) so I did the latter. I also increased the xp to x3 so I could get up to a reasonable level. I am now level 10 and not cheating is this too low for killing the nigh on 20 Shar in House of Grief because it seems so.

I am constantly being bombarded with darkness spell and other spells that involve darkness so my whole party is blind and cannot find no way out of it. As soon as any of my party get out of the darkness it is not too long before a darkness spell hits them again.

I had about 10 trapped in Black Tentacles but some just shadow stepped out of it.

I've still got moon lamp, will that do anything?

I was thinking of doing a second playthrough and search every map for all the side quests but I'm thinking of not bothering and uninstalling.

Helped a tinsy winsy little bit. The light didn't even last a round because before it ended darkness spell was cast upon it again

I give up. I've wasted not only 3 hours of tonight but ever since Z'rell. No second playthrough. Uninstall

Well devs another player bites the dust but it's probably what you intended. This game is only for the die hards and I ain't one of them. All the die hards - Enjoy but I'm out

Maybe you were underlevelled? If this encounter was hard for your party at lvl12, you are up to a rude surprise with Sarevok encounter.

Barbarian's Reckless Attack cancels out blindness. There were some gloves that give you advantage on every attack for 10 turns in act 2, so if you have those you can get a second character to ignore blindness. Warlock can get Devil Sight which lets them see in magical darkness.

Other than that, Black Hole and AoE magic.

I did uninstall but 200 hours in and I'm hooked. Installing again but going to start game from start and play it differently. One thing for certain I am going to make sure Shadowheart becomes dark Justicular and hopefully avoid this fight

Cast light on all your weapons.

The House of grief fight can be brutal since you are heavily outnumbered. What worked for me was simply dashing back through the entrance corridor and using it as a chokepoint. Once it gets crowded enough, I unleashed various AoE like fireballs and everything became clearer.

Darkness is broken atm. Don't even bother trying to counter or dispel it, the npcs have more spell slots than normal.

Best way to beat them is dragging them back through the entrance and bottle-necking them with AoE.
If your party i level 6 in act 3 I have no idea what you have done but you have made terrible decission.

Level 11 makes this fight a lot easier. 2 Chain lightnings will take care of this fight. You can also use chain lightning scrolls from sorcerous sundries. Have a hasted cleric cast create water then use chain lightning scroll.

This fight was a delight on Tactician. My regular party couldn't do it, because it's ranged attack oriented and you can't ranged attack in darkness. But I switched Gale in, and kept fireballing in the middle of my team. And the enemies just kept coming over, forming a circle around us and getting nuked.

(Evocation Wizards don't hit allies with evocation spells.)

First time I went down fast. Second time, bottle necked them at entrance, cast fire wall over the length of the corridor. From start to end they got twice burned for 20 - 23 damage. Shadowheart at front with spirit guardians and two tanks up front. Fight ended quickly in my favour. Also misty step is your friend when you want to set things up quickly.
