Consequences for killing/abandoning Laezel?
I'm tired of Laezel BS due to her condecending and honestly racist attitude not to mention her trying to kill me and a party member before I've even completed act 2. Are there any short/long term consequences to just killing her when she inevitably starts another fight or murder attempt?

Not really.
She has an interesting quest but you can kill her without any downsides.
All companions execpt gale can be murder and all you miss is there personal questline.
And gale you only cannot murder because he is a nuke.

Pretty sure you can merc all of the origin characters without any real downsides besides not being able to use them in combat.

Yeah she adds a lot to it.
And several other v.i.p of the story is related to her race.
So she adds a lot of dialog to the game.
She and shadowheart have the most story related elements.
I hear that unless your a githyanki the creche wont even talk to you

you lose her as a companion and her quest line and talky interactions with some of the gith groups. All minor. You can kill almost all the companions with no consequences, not 100% sure on halsin and the grove druids if you say whack him in his cell that may cause some ripples, haven't tried it.
Know act 1 far better than is good for me, I mostly bypass her and the rogue to get the barbarian and warlock + cleric combo, and reroll those to suit me.
Ok thanks for the help. I like all the other companions so I'll definatly keep them around but next time Laezel pulls some BS excuse for attacking the party Im gonna kill her.

You'll miss out in probably the best character arc in the game

Does Orin kidnap someone else if Lae'zel isn't present?

As for this.. her race was enslaved.. they revoted against their masters and now seek to protect all the realms from the mind flayers.. for little to no thanks.. I'd expect them to be a little condescending and xenophobic.. I'd be the same myself I think.

And it'll be Shadowheart who starts the next fight.. with Lae'zel... so who is the xenophobe now..

The factors that determine who Orin kidnaps are not clear, but it's certainly not always Lae'zel. For me, it was Halsin. One rumor is that it's the least used character, but in that case it should have been Astarion for me.

If that was the case for me it would have been misnc or wyll.
As lea'zal was my second most used party member.
Only Shadowheart was more valueable.

I just lost 2 existing party member and a potential one for one decision, but gained a faction as ally (at least that's what they think), but also lost 2 factions. This will probanly lead to a lot of differences in story later on, but next time I will make a different decision. I'd say just kill her if you want to, it's better if you find out yourself.

Maybe it's the last one you send back to camp. Or last one you leveled up.. which is what I do, I dress the spare ones like dolls, in the best armour and weapons, then send them back to camp and continue with my hirelings.

its randomized based off who is left in camp when it goes down. if you killed all the comps except for those in your party, who would be kidnapped.. now that is the question. btw first play thru i killed shadowheart, wyll and karlach left, halsin was dead. i had minthara, laezel and astarion in my party, gale got kidnapped

The game chooses a party member with the lowest relations to you between Laez'el, Gale and Halsin.

If all three of them are dead or in your Party, then Orin will kidnap Yenna from your camp. If she is not there, then Orin will kidnap one of your pets if I remember correctly.

But regardless whether she kidnaps one of your pets or Yenna, Orin will take one of your pets between Grub the Cat, Scratch or the Owlbear Cub and roast it on a spit in the Temple of Bhaal . Thought if she takes one of your party members, then this will not happen.

I suppose this is a slap on the wrist by Larian for trying to be selfish and not sacrifice a companion?
