Shadowheart is so dislikeable.
Independent women that when she does not get what she wants starts crying and leaves. Such a useless cleric , what is the point of her again? Outside trying to make you feel emotionally invested in her poor backstory of being a orphan adopted by shar , like who the hell cares you useless women!

Atleast l'aezel tells you exactly what she wants , there is no second guessing she is just straightforward as it should be.

I like her.

Weirdly enough, I expected to encounter Shadowheart and be force to kill her, because I refused her to join my party (every time)

That's literally not what happened. I guess this is the change they made with release because in EA there was that point in Act I where your choice comes down to killing her, plot wise.

I either have encounter some serious bug, or have looped through the game narration, in the way it wasn't predicted (like artifact magically showing in my invertory, even though I didn't take it by force or steal it from her - i had some lame vague explanation, how it just popped out of no where)

The issue I have, unlike Gale or Astarian, her's progression is tide to a story and there should be a way to wrap that lose end, as in some way that isn't left imagination.

And to be frank, that my overall issue with BG3, I mean I get it, in a way but then again, this are not some random bystanders (6 origin companions) each one of them, directly or indirectly influence how the events and world around shapes, even it's not driven by your choices, there should be some character\s npc autonomy, that in some way presents a default consequence of the choice, that has visible, though passive impact.

Okay, and what's next? Remake her? We're listening.
Criticize but suggest. Definitely devs making notes about everything what told in discussions.
I think OP has the same opinion as me. Every companion is flawed because they are written reasonably well. But me and OP can't get past Shadowheart's flaws because we despise the type of person she is. The writers at Larian did a phenomenal job if autists like ourselves can feel this way about a fictional character.

I also do agree she's useless as a cleric. That's why I made her a Paladin instead.

Initially disliked Shadowheart due to how she reacts to you asking her anything at the start but she starts to open up after a while and becomes one of the more interesting companions IMO.

With a name like Shadowheart, I can only assume it's intended to be a subtle plea for a mercy killing.

I think it was probably a poor design choice to have the first two companions you meet be horrible people who hate everything.

When I met Gale for the first time I was like, "Finally, someone who isn't a massive ♥♥♥♥!"

Ironic. Both in saying Lae'zel is more reasonable, and in implying Lae'zel had a better attitude.

She emotionally manipulates you to do her bidding , that is shadowheart the whole game over and it's obnoxious as hell , how people call it sweet is beyond me it's just a feminine trait used by women since they existed just to get what they want and she will constantly manipulate you to do something because of her god.

Gamers be like, "I killed this NPC because she isn't cute and sexy."

I did chase Gayle off, he ran screaming, there was glitter everywhere, made such a mess of the camp. Drama queen. He was at least kind enough to drop a bag with potions and scrolls as he left.

Any time I hear someone say "Useless Cleric" in this game I immediately realize they have no idea what Cleric is for.

Thank you!
