Mods and multiplayer?

So I play few games with friends but I want to mod my solo game. Will having mods installed will mess with me hosting the game or joining any multiplayer games?

They will, to the extent that having mods installed means you can only host or join games with the same load order as you. Think of it as your own "version" of the game. Only people with your version can join. I'm playing modded right now as well.

what if i only use dice skin mods?

Everybody has to be using the same dice skin mods in MP, then. Which ones you are using -cosmetic, QoL, affecting gameplay - everybody's got to have the same ones.

There is the modloader on nexusmods, that let's you include or exclude any mods with 2 simple clicks.

just look for bg3 modloader or so... any mod also gives you the link for that.

The way I do it is create two computer user accounts. The mods under one account will not effect the other user log in account.

hi i know this is old but you CAN join games if you have mods. i have idek how many honour mode runs with my friends and none of my mods interfered or were present (excluding the approval rating mod for dialogue, that one still transfers over onto THEIR games somehow, only i can see it though). as for hosting, im not sure. i’ve hosted a game with a friend before and both of us use mods, not the same ones though. it seemed to crash with some dialogues (even unavoidable ones) so i wouldn’t waste time on it. safest option if you NEED to host is to just disable your mods which can be tedious.
