Act 2 - Should I complete Nightsong quest afore going to Moonrise?

I've completed all of SHar's trials and Shadowheart is ready to jump into Shadowfell but I got a warning to complete quests etc because something in the world may change.

I donnae want to miss any side quests or major quests -I havent even BEEN to Moonrise thinking thats the last leg of the journey.

What must I do?

No. I recommend to go to Moonrise first and do as much as you can before making a decision with Nightsong.
And before both of those, triggering the Inn battle with Isobel.

Go to Moonrise first! Going through Shadowfell will soft lock you out of anything you missed and there are quite a good few in Moonrise.

Yeah, I think this bit needed some better narrative signposting. I did the exact same and was glad I googled it when I got the vague warning you get lol.

Basically this is the last thing to do in Act 2, so if you've explored your way into doing it before everything else, then hol' up a minute, go back, go do everything else you wanted to do in Act 2, then come back here (thankfully it doesn't hurt the quest if you just put it off for a bit at this stage) to finish it up.

exactly. The narrative i interpreted is Absolute is in moonrise and kill him at the end... wish there were better signs that i should do nightsong last..though I appreciate the overt warning that led me here...

Yeah, I disregarded that warning you get before going into the Shadowfell and didn't realize I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything up until 7 hours later. Had to reload a save I made right before going in there and redo all those 7 hours xD

For the record if people don't mind spoilers these are the things you should do before going into the Shadowfell:
Save the prisoners at Moonrise towers.
Free the Gnolls from their mind control (if you want to)
Bring Astarion to the Sanguinomancer.
Bring Karlach to the Armorer of the Absolute.
Explore Balthazar's chambers.
Clear all of the Mountain Pass (in case you didn't go there before going into the Shadow Cursed Lands)
Explore in and around the Tower. You don't have to reach the top of the tower.

Yeah I went for nightsong first because my understanding was that i would need it for moonrise, and i was quite upset when i later understood i locked myself out of moonrise content

Complete absolutely everything you can before the Nightsong just don't turn Moonrise hostile to you, that's it.

act 2 doesnt really start till after night song. They need to get rid of the warning left from the beta.
