Some reason that really stood out to me compared to all the other troll threads on the board.
"Skimped on budget so they didn't have to pay the VA" ??!
Every single NPC in this game is voice acted. Even in Baldur's Gate. I've never played a game with more lines of voice acting dialogue.
You're really out of the loop on the dialogue around this game.

See I kind of disagree, I thought he did pretty well with what he was given. I mean it's not his usual style but Thorm had a certain "High-Fantasy Omni-Man" thing going on for me and I loved it.
It didn't help that they kind of got lazy on the SFX so it completely didn't match the environment he was talking in. Windy top of a castle with magic flying about? Silent as a recording booth.
You basically just outed yourself as a person with bad taste.
Jokes aside: He's voiced by J.K. Simmons and his surprisingly calm voice fits perfectly for a emmisary of ... well you know who (don't wanna spoil).
